About Us
Since May 2008, Sarah Dickey owned and operated Child's Play in
its previous Kings Highway location. Sarah has dual Bachelors D egrees
in Elementary and Special Education from the University of Delaware.
She was a first grade teacher for the Milford School District where she
also taught special education. Sarah co-owns and operates Child's Play with Alisha Melesky, teaches preschool full-time and tutors.
Alisha Melesky previously operated Moms4Hire!,
an in-home licensed day care out of her home in Lewes. Alisha has a
Master's Degree in Social Work from the University of Pennsylvania, is a past President of the MOMS Club of Rehoboth Beach Area, DE, and is
the chair of the Delaware Children's Museum, Sussex County Chapter of
MOMs (Mother's of the Museum). Alisha is a member of the Association for Play Therapy and the National Association of Social Workers. Alisha co-owns and operates Child's Play and provides child care.
Missy Palokas previously operated Moms4Hire!, an in-home licensed day care out of her home in Long Neck. Missy holds a Bachelors Degree in psychology from Lebanon Valley
College; she has over seven years of experience working with children
and families. Missy is also the coordinator for our babysitting service: Child's Play at Home. Missy works full time at Child's Play as a child care provider.
Sherry Richter is a current preschool teacher at Child's Play. Sherry's
past experiences include: Jefferson School teacher for 10
years, past parent educator with Parent's as Teachers for 15 years and
previous preschool director for the Sussex County YMCA. Sherry teaches preschool part time.
Candace Shetzler, founder of Child's Play, is a current preschool
teacher and Occupational Therapist. Candace has a Master's Degree in
Occupational Therapy and over thirteen years of experience working in
pediatrics. Candace offers Occupational Therapy, facilitates play-to-learn groups, and teaches the Moons preschool class.
For the past four years,Kat Alberta has been a stay-at-home mom with her daughter. She has a Bachelors degree in Sociology and has extensive management experience. Kat works as a part time child care provider.
Christina Connors has a Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy and experience working with children in a school setting. She is a mother of two young children and is a trained provider of Handwriting Without Tears. At Child's Play, Christina puts her Occupational Therapy skills to works as a part time child care provider.
