About Us
Sarah Dickey has dual Bachelors degrees
in Elementary and Special Education from the University of Delaware.
She was a first grade teacher for the Milford School District where she
also taught special education. Sarah co-owns and operates Child's Play and teaches preschool full-time.
Alisha Melesky has a
Master's Degree in Social Work from the University of Pennsylvania and is a past President of the MOMS Club of Rehoboth Beach Area. Alisha is a member of the Association for Play Therapy and the National Association of Social Workers. Alisha co-owns and operates Child's Play and provides child care.
Amy Burhop is a full-time childcare provider at Child's Play. Amy's
past experiences include working for preschool in the Shenandoah County Public Schools system as well as a private preschool in New Jersey. She has over 20 years experience working in the education field which includes working with kids with special needs.
Joy Ferguson is an independent certified Personal Trainer and a fitness instructor for a local gym. She previously owned and operated two Gymboree Play & Music programs in Newark, DE where she instructed Gymboree play and kindermusik classes. Joy is the mother of 3 school aged children. She comes to Child's Play with extensive experience in preschool and elementary physical education. Joy has volunteered for several years as a Lewes Little League coach and Pop Warner Cheerleading coach.
Donna Long has an Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education and experience teaching preschool in Maryland. She is the mother of four college age daughters. She has been working at Child's Play for over a year as a part-time childcare provider.
Suzy Donovan graduated from Aquinas Academy where she excelled in sports, volunteered for
Special Olympics Delaware and was very involved in leadership development. Some of her work
experience includes: Assumption Catholic School in Jacksonville, FL. and Pike
Creek Fitness Center/Hockessin Athletic Club. Suzy
is now working towards her certification in Early Child Care Education and
plans to complete studies in that field.
Maria DiPasquale has 30 years of teaching experience in various districts in Sussex County. She holds a BS in Heath Education and Recreation and a MeD in Special Education. Maria has been a teacher and coordinator serving preschool children through adults. Maria coordinates and teaches in the afters-school program.
Candace Shetzler, founder of Child's Play, is our Occupational Therapist. Candace has a Master's Degree in
Occupational Therapy and over fourteen years of experience working in
pediatrics. Candace offers private Occupational Therapy services.
Judi Block's yoga practice began over a decade ago and it has become a part of her life, bringing balance to all aspects - which is especially useful as a mom of 2 young children! Judi received her teaching certification from the Comfort Zone Center for Whole Self Healing and is a Registered Yoga Teacher through Yoga Alliance. She is also a certified Prenatal Yoga Instructor for Conscious Birthing. Over the past year she has taught at the Comfort Zone for Whole Self Healing in Lewes & currently teaches at Kaya Wellness & Yoga in Rehoboth Beach. Judi teaches kids Yoga classes at Child's Play.
